The Football Coaching Podcast with Joe Daniel
The Football Coaching Podcast with Joe Daniel
The success of a team is tied to so many variables. X’s and O’s can’t win every game. Jimmy’s and Joe’s can take you far, but how can we get those guys on the field if we aren’t at a powerhouse school? Your support chain, the parents, admin, community, all play a very large role in the success of a team.
On this episode Joe and Daniel are joined by Coach Justin Kinzie to talk all things support. They talk about the groups you need to prioritize to gain supports, what that conversation might look like, and when you’ll know that enough is enough and a situation just isn’t winnable.
• School Board, Admin, School, Parents, Community
• A weak administration can be a gamechanger in a negative way
• Student body buy in can eventually win you games by the kids you pull from the stands
• There are good and bad of every group, the dividing line probably isn’t where you think it is.
• It doesn’t take a future president of the United States to talk about expectations for a program
• It’s okay to discuss the standards, expectations, and short comings of support with a particular group. Being adaptable will help you be successful.
• You and the admin may not always be on the same page, but you have to leverage your wants and needs with a win/win situation for them.
• Coaches have to let the Admin and Teachers know what resources they bring to the table
