So, your passing game is broken. Your QB is terrible, your receivers can’t catch, the O-Line can’t block a soul… we’ve been there. Luckily, you don’t have to install a non-passing offense and become one dimensional.
On this episode Joe and Daniel discuss the usability and benefits of a simplified passing game, why you don’t need to teach progressions, and how you can add options to your passing game to meet your players where there are and bring them forward.
You need a simple passing game
• The Pistol Power Offense has everything you need for a successful simple passing game
• Quick Game
• Play Action
• Screens and Bubbles
• Tags can break open your pass game once you get the basics down
• Use throws that will be decided fairly quickly, or read within the first few seconds of any play
You don’t need a Complex Passing game to throw the ball
• IF you can throw the ball, you are seen as a passing threat, complex or simple. They just see stats and get back to gameplanning
• Your team will benefit from a simplified passing game, regardless of what your scheme calls for now
• It doesn’t matter what system, rules, program, etc.
Are there a lot of options in a simple passing game?
• You can pair some type of simple passing game with the kids you have
• Mobile qb
• Weak qb
• Lack of talented WRs
• No “take the top off” speed
