The Football Coaching Podcast with Joe Daniel
Playcalling has changed drastically over the years. From running a WR in to communicate each play, to signals, radio comms, and poster boards. We all do things a little differently.
On this episode, Joe and Daniel are talking with innovator and Head Football Coach Thad Wells to discuss his “Rooski” play calling system. Listen to find out how the Rooski system can give you an edge by simplifying football for your players.
• The Rooski System is a new play calling system that uses photos on a wrist coach, instead of just having words.
• The system allows you to remove memorization from the equation when coaching your team.
• You can do a lot more with less time when the kids just have to look at a photo.
• Reduce your system to the base, and get it all on their wrist. Then you can just tag changes.
• Players get to visually see the big picture, to gain understanding of football concepts.
• You can call the game “like Madden.”
• Get creative with the offensive line.
• New formations are quick and easy, as kids just have to align where their letter/dot tell them to.
• You can get unbalanced with ease.
