We all know a coach is only as good as the staff they hire. But, hiring the right guys out of the pool you have access to isn’t always the easiest thing to do. We’re breaking it down to try and make it easier.
On this episode Joe and Daniel talk everything you need to know about the wrong coaches to hire, the right coaches to hire, and what to do with your staff once you’ve made all the hires.
What does the wrong coach look like?
• Wrong guys do exist.
• Some guys are just different in the office than they are in the interview.
• Community guys are great to have on your team, but may not be the best to take up a stipend.
• Watch out for hiring parents of your players. Although it is doable, you’ll want to separate them from their son ASAP.

What does the Right coach look like?
• He has to “check all the boxes,” that you’re looking for
• Personality does matter, but on a lot more levels than you think.
How do we put it all together?
• Find the most important spots and fill them first
• Don’t cut your own throat by ignoring your sub-varsity levels by sending the youngest coaches down there to “just run it”
• Learn to put your new coaches in positions that co-habitat with other positions
