Your run fits are everything. Your run fits are everything. Your run fits are everything. Okay, you get the point. Your defense has to be built around your run fits. If you can’t stop the run game, nothing else will matter.
On this episode, Joe and Daniel discuss the Umbrella Run Fits System, how to teach it to your entire defense in 10 minutes, and how to fit any run play without changing your defense.
Run Fits System
- Even “Fill all the gaps” is a viable system, but there is something better out there
- Your scheme (3-3, 3-4, 4-3) isn’t your run fits
- Gaps move… that shouldn’t break your defense
Teach Run Fits to Your Entire Defense in 10 Minutes
- There is no difference in teaching your run fits, regardless of the system you want to live in
- The ability to teach and install your base in 10 minutes is an advantage to your full system
Fit any Run Play Without Changing Your Defense
- I’m going to play this play like this, and then this other play like this
- There are only so many plays for the offense, and the base defense covers them all easily
